Steps

1

Scheduling a Hearing Test

Contact HearingLife at 1 (888) 514-9515 or alternate qualified testing provider to schedule an appointment for a hearing test. HearingLife or the alternate qualified testing provider will attempt to cross reference your name with the IBB program database to determine eligibility for coverage.

Find a clinic near you:
• Nationally: HearingLife
• New Brunswick: Argus Audiology or Audiocorp
• Newfoundland: Maico Hearing Service
2

Custom Molded Hearing Protection

Advise the clinic or testing provider if you would also like to be fitted for custom molded hearing protection.
3

Hearing Testing and National Database

Ensure the clinic or testing provider have a blank copy of the IBB audiogram to be completed. If they don’t or you’re unsure, you can find an electronic copy here. Once your hearing test is completed, you can email an electronic copy (document or photo) of your completed audiogram to the national database at medical@boilermakersbenefits.ca. Additionally, proof of testing will be uploaded to your mobile Boilermaker app profile. Note: no confidential medical information will be available through the mobile Boilermaker app. You are also entitled to a personal copy of your audiogram for your personal records.
4

Payment

HearingLife or the qualified testing provider may invoice the National Health fund directly for the cost of authorized testing and custom molded hearing protection for covered members. In the event that direct billing is not available, you can submit your receipts for reimbursement using the claim form found here. Members are encouraged to check their eligibility for reimbursement with the National Health Fund before testing or ordering custom molded hearing protection.
